Wii restocks?

So, are all Gamestops supposed to have Wii's for BF? I don't want to camp out at 4am (it's probably about 10 above here right now) if they are not going to have them!
 
Thats the real problem, the fact that no one is giving straight answers. One store might say they'll have them for BF, then another location of the same store will say that they won't be getting them for a month. Its 23 degrees below zero where I live but i'm still camping out at Toys 'R Us just in case the rumors about Friday are true. If you've got enough coats on then it doesn't hurt to try.
 
I'm pissed. My EB got 4 in. I was 5 in line when they told me this. I left the line to call the other store which got zero. When I come back 3 minutes later theres 15 people in line, and the number 3-4 people left. Not that it matter anyways. They had 2 registers open, and the first people to rush the counter got them.
 
went to my eb at around 6, and was number 15 in line.

guy comes out, tells us they only got 8 in.
The group of little friends that got dropped off by their mommies at 5 go "8, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 thats us 8 right thats all us"

everyone else was like "greaaaat"


called another eb. they only got 6... guy said there were about 20 people waiting (he hadnt told them yet)

The EB I went to early only had two in.

I've already lost 2 hours of sleep trying to get this stupid console. That's enough for me. I'll get one when I walk into a store and see it sitting there.
 
Just went up to a ebgames less than 2 hours ago stayed in line got lucky and was #6 and they had 6 wii's to sell. Couldnt get an extra controller but also got the last zelda. Now i have a reason to take tommorrow off to play zelda all day.
 
Well, I checked out all 3 of my local Gamestop/EBgames.
(They all 'open' at 7 today, so says their ad...)
#1 in the Mall had 40 people outside it by 5 AM. Bah.
#2 had ~20, manager comes out and say they don't have any PS3s or Wii's at all.
#3 had ~25, they had 2 Wiis, no PS3s.

This is the launch all over again, only with less systems!
On the other hand, I was really surprised at how many people were lining up for Wiis.
I hardly heard a peep about PS3 the whole time, they probably figured there was no point.
 
My local EB Games only had 2 in stock. I was number 4 in line, Geez! The manager didn't even have the courtesy to tell all the people waiting in line for Wii when she got there at 6:30 that they only had 2 to sell.

Pissed, I am.....
 
I got to my closest gamestop at 6:35 and I was 7th in line. They opened the doors at 7am let us all in and then I find out they only got 4. I waited till the 5th person got up there just to be sure. Target was sold out near me and the Toys R' us said they had not received their shipment yet and are suposed to get them later tonight or tomorrow. I guess I might go there at 11am Saturday and see if they got them
 
The EB near me had 8. I drove by last night at 9pm on the way from Turkey Dinner, and saw 6 people outside.

I said to myself, "Guess I don't have to wake up early tomorrow". Still Wii-Less.
 
got to gamestop last night around 11:30. There were two wii-campers already there with another friend providing moral support. The guy at the head of the line said he heard they were going to have 8 units, so i camped out.

sure enough, 7AM sharp they cart 8 wii's out of the back. There were 9 people in line before 3AM, and when the store opened, probably 25 people or so.

This is #3 that now resides permanently in my home:

i'm loving wii sports more than words can express. it's so good!

zelda will have to wait until i get some sleep, i nodded off 4 times before the intro even ended.
 
So I guess it's pretty much impossible to get a wii at this point?(until next week)

Best bet will be trying Sunday and then next Tuesday. Damn I want a Wii.
 
I've seen rumors that BestBuy is holding back stock of the Wii for a Sunday sale... but it's just rumors at this point.

I camped out all night.. I went by circuit city and best buy, they both had a shitload of people at 11pm already so I decided to skip them. Ended up going to toys r' us because I heard they were hoarding wiis. Nope. Shoulda have went to gamestop early on. I was #8 in line at gamestop and they had 5 wiis. I fail.


Do you really think anyone will have them in stock sunday?
 
I GOT A WII!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Gamestop opened at 7am. I set my alarm for 6:30 and didn't get up until 6:50. Put on pants & shoes & coat, stopped to grab new Pearl Jam CD from collection for driving music (good driving music can cut any commute time by 15%) got in car, drove. Line was formed outside Gamestop, I was like NOOOO!! (Actually I wasn't - if I wanted it worse I would have gotten up earlier. :D )

Parked, got in line. Was like 15 people ahead of me. I'd heard GS's were getting 20 Wii's each. Store opened about 3 minutes later. Stood in line. Someone joked, "Oh, they don't have any Wii's" then someone else said "No, they have a bunch lol." Well, some of the people in line were families, so groups of 2-4 each that were actually "one" customer. So actually I was about 6th or 7th in line perhaps. The guy got a Wii from under the counter for the first customer, which to me proves that GS's and probably other stores had Wii's but refused to sell them until the morning of BF. Then, there were two boxes of Wii's. I got the 2nd-to-last one. There looked to be 3-4 in a box; I think the store had about 8 Wii's total and I got one, for camping for 3 minutes. Not bad!

I also picked up Excite Truck with it, because as they say on GamingForce, "It's got BIG DAMN TRUCKS!" There are probably no Zelda's left in town nor will there be, which is fine by me since I haven't yet beat Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker, or about 15 other RPG's I own but haven't gotten around to yet. :rolleyes:

Right now take that as a Rumor. It hasent been confirmed but seems more likely that it will be sometime next week for a shipment.

did best buy sell Wiis today?
 
i got to gamestop about 5:15am and was 34th in line. some people behind me said the ebgames at the mall only got 5 wii's in so they weren't very optimistic about gamestop. about 6:30 the manager comes out and says they only got 14 in. i'm about to go to ebay if i get denied one more time
 
At my CircuitCity there were AT LEAST 150 in line. Now many of them were for the $99 laptop ($200 mail-in rebate and $200 off if you sign up for a 12 month subscription to Vonage, lol) but a good amount of them were for the Wii and I heard they only got about 8.

The local target only had like 8 people in line when I got there but I ended up leaving and I later heard they only had 8 as well.

I have a feeling from now until Christmas, there will ALWAYS be a line waiting at the stores when they get stock in. I'm tempted to spend $700 and get the stupid bundle from the internet (though, it won't ship till 12/5).

Bah :(
 
Yeah I got shut down at Fred Meyer, Target, Gamestop, Toys R Us, Sears, and Best Buy today, it wasn't a happy morning.

Toys R Us said they'd have some this afternoon and I'm going back there to check but they also said that they're filling rain-checks still, but I'm ready to pay right there for one, so I might get one, I'll have to start a line by myself or something.
 
So the guy at Toys 'R' Us told me on Wednesday that they had a truck full of Wiis that would be unpacked Wednesday night to be sold on Friday morning at 5. I also called up an EB games close to my work who told me they'd have "a few" in stock on Friday, opening at 7am.

I wasn't about to camp out, but I figured I'd hit up TRU around 4:30 / 5 and see if I could grab anything, and if that fell short, I'd head over to EB and wait until 7 to see what I could find there.

So, I get to TRU just after 5, and already the place is a flustercluck of people. I walk in, ask about Wii, and the guy tells me they have none in yet, but might get more later today or sunday... Some truck...

Since BB and Walmart are both right across the street, I had my girlfriend take a look in each one to see if she could find anything, and they both had nothing so I left for EB.

I get to EB, and there are already about 8 people in line, making me number 9. Waited there from about 5:45 until 7, by which time I was 9th in line with about 5 people behind me. People at the front of the line had been waiting since at least 3am, and I had no intention of being there sooner than 5.

Manager shows up around 6:15, but doesn't come out until 7:05, never updating the Wii situation to anyone. So we basically froze our asses off for another 45 minutes only to find out they had 3 Wiis in stock. I waited around until all 3 were gone, just to be on the safe side and headed to work empty handed.

Guess I have to just call around and hope I get lucky enough to catch the tail-end of a shipment...
 
Target, Wal-mart, bestbuy, a gamestop, and a sears did not get any.

1 gamestop got 2.

Wiiiii.
 
UPDATE: Check at your local Toys R US. The one in Beaumont TX just received a shipment of 50! My wife picked it up, but had to buy 2 games so we got Zelda and Madden... X-mas is saved for my 12 yr old!

Question now is where to get the component cables and do I need a memory card? I guess I'll also need another remote too, is the numchuk sold seperately as well?

I find it interesting that both yours and mine boxes have crunched top left corners even though we live on other sides of the country. Hmmmmm

And people, it is NOT a rumor that Best Buy will have Wii's on sunday. It is a FACT.

Line up early. Some stores are getting around 60, others are getting the minimum 12.

They just told me that they definitly would NOT have them. Nearest Best Buy is 45 minutes from me. I don't knwo if I should od that or not.

EDIT: Just called and explained my situation. How far I was. He said they will have 50. I'll be there at 10 am :p

Oh wow, this sucks so much. I woke up at 4am to be at Toys R Us when they opened. Got in the store, got a "sorry sir, our shipment didn't arrive as expected". So now I see this thread, and call them back just to check, get a "sorry sir, our shipment arrived today and is already gone". Dammit

almost the same deal here, except I camped out at toys r us. what a mess. I keep calling the 3 stores in the area that haven't gotten a wii shipment yet.
