Wife Aggro part 2!

Quite good, reminds me of when I was WoWer.

My solution is the 'girls night out', my wife has a 'So Happy its Thursday' club, and she goes out to dinner with her friends. I feed the kids and put them to bed at 8:00 (they are young). Then I can play till bed, a good four to five hours easy.

Console gaming, while not as all encompasing (see WoW comment earlier), can be harder to pull off, basically because it involves me using the nice TV for something that she isn't interested in.

And the 'brother-in-law' bonding part was great, for me it is actually 'sister-in-law' bonding, She is much younger (have known her since she was 5, she is now 19). She loves games, especially shooters and we can play for hours. No worries about the potential problem with hanging out with a 19 year old female either, total lesbo!

haha funny stuff.. but i feel sorry for you guys that have to freak out if your wife/gf catches you gaming or bitches at you endlessly if you, god f'ing forbid, do something you enjoy in life.. my wife never, bitches at me if im gaming or relaxing in my office.. she knows i bust my ass at work every week and do get things done/fixed around then house when need be, so she has no problems with me doing some gaming when i want to..

True, I think a lot of the time the guys who's wifes/girlfriends have a problem with them gaming is because they do not do what they should be doing around the house or they are not paying enough attention to their significant other.
 
If your girl can spend $150 in a weekend on hair and nails then proceeds to bitch at you for wanting a $400 video card? Tell her to go to hell. She only wants all your money and the lifestyle it brings. No matter what she says in bed or in public she does NOT want you.

I got my GF hooked on WoW, but I have 2 computers side-by-side and she loves grouping up with me, so there's no fighting over the computer or TV. If I want play with the guild or my friend she has her own characters and will do her own thing. We don't have any kids to worry about so that makes things easier. She's gotten pretty good too which makes it better, because I can't stand grouping with people who aren't any good or are clueless.

My 2nd computer has been down this week due to an RMA'd power supply and she wants to play WoW all weekend... lol, which is fine with me.

I think a lot of these guys with wife issues either aren't getting things done they need to, or let their wife/gf bully them. (which sadly happens a lot to my 2 younger brothers)

I just used the "brother-in-law" excuse last week.:D My wife's brother started playing WoW and has wanted me to get it. I like EQ better but, hey, it's family bonding. And for the record, my wife didn't believe me but she bought the game for me anyway.:p

a buddy of mines girl used to kick all our asses at any game, it was kinda creepy now that i look back on it

Exactly,and when you do find that gal,put a ring on her finger ASAP :D I did,and she is a huge pc game fan,especially shooters and crpg's like Oblivion.The only downside to this is costs,as she wants the shiny new 8800 as much as me,which is why I dont have a GTX,but we both have a GTS :)

Your preaching to the choir man. Luckily mine prefers less visually intense games to play for herself, she loves watching me play the harder core games though. She has watched every minute of FFVII, FFX, Oblivion, FEAR, Prey, and Zelda:TP. She usually takes my left overs whenever I upgrade.
 
So I'm about to be 23 and have a GF that I have been with for 1 year, and we have a 6 month girl as well.

When I first met her she hated all video games except for she owned a NES and loves to play the first Mario.

I remember the first time she came over and saw me playing video games, I could tell she wasn't to excited about the whole video game setup I had going, but I don't think it bothered her....

I mostly play CS, and she swore that she would never play any games with me, because she can't stand them. Shes more of a girly girl sometimes. She doesnt say LIKE or OMG all the time, but she does show her girly side more when shes watching the dumb soaps and chick flick movies...

Well about 7 months into our relationship I got her younger brother to play CS, and she saw that it was somewhat easy to pick up, and said "I want to try"... I found myself 3 days later purchasing her, her own steam account, so that we can play on the same server.

CS is really the only game that she will play with me, or enjoy playing with or w/o me other than Mario. She doesnt like any kinda of RPG's or sports games.



But she does every so often complain about me playing games... mostly when I havent really done anything around the house, or she feels like I'm spending more time with my game and not with her.

I did just purchase a new 46 inch LCD 1080i/p Sharp Flatscreen, and I know we are going to be fighting for who gets to use it... shes gonna wanna watch her dumb soaps, while I'm gonna want to play my PS3 using that expensive ass HDMI cable :p

Sounds like someone's had a few bad relationships. If you actually have a good relationship with someone then this advice useless. My gf is awesome and understands my passion for computers. But then, I guess that's just me being young, blind, and stupid :rolleyes:

Hand me downs in our house worked fine,until she found out Oblivion went gold,and that her 'slightly used' Asus EN7800GT (my 'old' card) wouldnt quite cut it with the latest and greatest texture mods.

Rich? No... I just have good credit and I finance things with 0% APR .. so I pay over time.

Stupid? What makes me stupid? Me and my GF have been living together for almost 9 months, and no end in sight. If we can go another year, we both would like to get married.

I know she is not with me for my money, because I really don't have a lot of it.

Back in November I lost my job with Cingular and was able to get un-employment benefits, times were tough, but she has helped with some money for rent and bills (more than her half to cover for the loss of income on my part), and never thought about leaving my side.

Please don't call me stupid, just because I found a girl and our relationship is working...
 
If your chick bitches at you for any gaming, she's got some issues. Punch out, punch out and watch the canopy goose!
 
Ok, so yeah, gaming addict (5 years EQ, currently WoW). I'm a sysadmin, with a spare sun U60 with the video in card. I managed to hook it up to a small CCTV camera (wireless) under the eaves of the house, pointing down the street; As my sun monitor sits next to my PC monitor, I know exactly when my wife comes home. And with my Sun up, it always looks like I'm working on the next great project. :D
A bit drastic perhaps, but I'm never caught.

I agree with this. Have seen it time and time again. She does not want you. She wants her idealized you, which pretty much means having all your decisions made for you, and being stuck up her ass at all times. Anything you do for fun that does not make her list of fun will be resented to fuck and back and you will never get a moments peace. If it is supposed to be true love, doesnt it seem like there is something wrong with that? Shouldn't she want you to do the things you love? Think before you spawn! I know it's hard, and being lonely sucks, but if she is that way as your gf, imagine when she has kids and a trip to the cleaners in divorce hanging over your head. If you cant see the simple truth in any of these things.........well. All I can say is have fun at your mother in laws, night after night, weekend after weekend. Just kick your genitalia to curb, you wont be needing it anymore.

As a side note, the above rant assumes you have some modicum of self control when it comes to gaming. Neglect is despicable.

Final note, I held out. Found me a gamer. Of course it took until I was 28 to find her. Sure it was sucky as hell sometimes. In the end though, all my previous relationships were a pale shadow of what I have now. Hang in there. It really isnt about gaming at all.

Correct.
Girls don't want you in particular, they want security and lifestyle.
Give them that, and you get to hear "Oh ______, I love you so much..."
 
So ToE, am I to understand that some of this is first hand knowledge from you? Damn, and I thought your wife was cool 'casue she showed up at a few LANs. Man, you must have gotten the crap beat out of you for that. lol

I've done most of those but "The King" in Chapter 1 is very dangerous and I do not recommend it.
 
I have used "The King" before as well, in desperate situations when all other attempts have failed...turned into some of the worst fights my wife and I have had lol.
