I will try giving the short version of all the events here...
ON my old system:
Athlon Xp 2000+
Kt-Dragon Lite Motherboard
1.3 gigs pc 2700
enermax 350watt psu
Ok, problem started when i tried adding more ram. Apparantly the ram stick was bad, it screwed up the 1 gig stick and the computer would only boot with the 256 stick, that is after numerous cmos flashing.. Although the system would boot.. It was extremely unstable. It would crash when i was just browsing the internet.. and almost always when running any 3d Mark test.. If i got through 1 test, I was lucky. I took out everything but the basics that the computer needed to run, all PCI cards and such.. I also swapped out video cards... and put in a new stick of ram.. didnt fix it.
SO after all that, i decided to buy a new computer:
Athlon 64 3000
MSI neo-fsr mobo
Radeon 9800 pro
Used the same power supply from my old computer
used the new ram that i tried in my old computer
same cd drive
same mouse and keyboard
same hard drives
Well.. i put my new stuff together... SAME PROBLEM... just not as bad was actually able to complete a 3d mark 2001 benchmark. This was only AFTER i removed the main hard drive and reinstalled windows on my secondary drive. It has been more stable since i reinstalled, because i tihnk my old hard drive was shot.. getting errors all over the place.
The new case i got came with a new PSU, i hooked it up to my old system to see if the PSU was the problem, nope... didnt fix it.
So, obviously.. I am pretty worried about this problem. Its like I have ruled out every option of what it could be.. beleive it or not.. I am using a different keyboard and mouse to see if thats it..
I am desperate..
Sorry if my explanation is hard to follow, might not have come out how I wanted it to, but you get the jist.
Please.. and ideas or comments that may help me here..
Thanks
