hate to break it to you, but Conroe slaps around the A64 line. For the past 3 years I have owned many different A64's and I love amd, but I go where the best bang for my buck plus a Conroe + 975 is very much future proof for Quad cores. I got my 6300 OEM for 209 from TD when they had them in stock. these things are limited by FSB limits on the mobo's. at 3.0GHZ, there is no A64 that can touch a conroe. And please don't refer to hard's benchies as they are flawed. Look around eles where, see true benchmarks.Serge84 said:Prices are in control of the retail stores not intel. Prices will stay like this for awile and AMD will be the better deal for now. They are way overpriced from what intel wanted to sell them for. The better performer is a X2 4200+. Its enough to match a 240 buck E6300 at stock. ANd the 4200 only costs 180 bucks. Way over priced for a E6300. You could get a 4600+ for 200 bucks. Blows that away too and almost matches a E6400 at stock. But the E6400 costs 300 bucks. The E6600 costs 400 bucks buy a 5000+ for 280 bucks doesn't perform all that different. And a E6700 costs 500 bucks and finally matches a over priced FX-62. More ppl will go for the lower priced product that will perform better for cheaper. Doesn't matter how it performs over all. Its always the price that wins.
