• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Why no using URL Shortener's?

They're not specifically prohibited, but they're very frequently used for less than benign purposes. When one is used for bad reasons too frequently, it's added to the word filter to stop the misuse.

If you don't want a super-long link taking up space, you can just use URL tags to replace it with whatever text you want. There's no real need to use a shortener with vBulletin.

I never click URL-shortened links anyway... why would you want to hide the real link behind a facade unless you were trying to trick someone to a silly youtube vid, or worse a malware site? As Zero82z said... just replace the display text if you don't want a super-long link, people can still see what it goes to that way ;).

We do not need those since VB does it automatically. And fwiw, I don't trust what those things hide anyway.
