I did use an iPhone 6 yesterday that one of my staff bought over the weekend and you would never know that the specs are lower than a comparable phone running Android. It was very smooth and much quicker than I expected. I don't care for iOS so I won't be buying an iPhone but I can see where someone who just wants to turn it on and use it would really like the iPhone.
That is what I am looking for in Android. The Moto X had a great user experience even though it had relatively low end specs, except the battery and camera held it back. Same thing with the Nexus 5. My current phone, the OnePlus One, is the best Android phone I have owned to date but still has its issues due to a developing CM. I have high hopes for the Nexus 6 and will probably just wait for it to be released before doing anything else.
The G3 just seems to be a great compromise between the Nexus 5 and Note 3/4 so I wanted to see what the experience has been like for current owners.
If Android spent more time on optimizing what they have on the software end of things and concentrating on the user experience rather than throwing in more bloated apps and carrier crap then they would not need the raw horsepower on the hardware end to keep things chugging along.
I much prefer Android as I use my phone more or less as a portable computer but do tire of the extra crap that comes on most phones.
I don't care what the specs are but do care what the actual user experience is.
Another vote for Just Say No to TouchWiz..Wife has the iPhone 6,it isn't any faster than the LG G3 that I use, maybe the apps for iOS8 are more "streamlined", but it doesn't feel any bit faster than the G3. The camera on the iPhone 6 does seem to take better pictures in low-light situations, but it isn't remarkably better than the camera on the G3 and yes, I've used both as well, guess it's just a matter of opinion. Both are great for what they do, if you have a 5S then I highly suggest you get the iPhone 6, using my wife's 5S compared to the iPhone 6, BIG DIFFERENCE. That is all.
Another vote for Just Say No to TouchWiz..
Tell me that the knock feature isnt friggin brilliant!

Simple, price holds it back as with other flagships in the no contract segment. It's a small, limited market catering to enthusiasts, not helped by a growing number of less expensive yet very capable alternatives.
Anyone know if the LG G3 will get Android 5.0?
I would bet that more go for the contract phones than they do no contract
That probably explains it ... that segment is shrinking as more look for less costly upfront alternatives. I often ask myself 'some still buy on contract these days?' Phone prices on flagships remain expensive thanks to carrier subsidies.
My guess is for every G3 there are 100 cheaper models sold. The G3 is loved until sticker shock sets in.

The reason I went with a (used off of Ebay) G2 over going for a newer G3 is that the G3 had worse battery life.

Like, nearly twice as bad for web browsing, which is a lot of what I do on my phone. While mine had a few issues (dust at the proximity sensor, one stuck pixel), I got the seller to knock the price down to 159 total for my G2.
I don't know how long it's been used, but my G2's battery life is indeed quite amazing. It's a good phone. I'm also not in for the super high resolution, high horsepower phones. As long as it can make calls and I can use the GPS, browse the internet (and check mail and whatnot) and listen to music on it... it does all that I want it to. I have a Vita and 3DS for gaming. The fact that it lasts DAYS off of the charger through light, moderate, and heavy use is great. I can understand wanting resolution and horsepower to an extent, but the main reason to have a phone is to have it with you and ready to rock whenever. Battery life concerns makes things very constraining. It depends on how you use it I guess. I just like not having to worry at all.
Wow, cool thanks for posting link, I just submitted my request for that promo! Hope they deliver!
Congratulations! Your submission for the Free LG G3 Battery and Battery Charging Cradle Promotion has been successfully validated.
Please be on the lookout for a shipping confirmation email* letting you know that your battery and cradle are on their way.
Got an email from LG on Sep 30:
I got that exact e-mail on the 30th as well! I haven't had a situation where I needed a replacement right away on my G3 but I've gotten close This will be put to good use
LG's skin is nicer than TouchWiz and also lighter, I really don't mind it.
Also, EVER PHONE NEEDS TO COPY KnockOn. Sorry for the caps, but it really is the best feature to come to smartphones in a very long time.

Agreed. On the subject, I'm almost certain that Cyanogenmod had the knock feature about 4-5 years ago with a ROM for the Evo 4G...anyone remember if that was true?
Double tap any unoccupied space on your home screen to knock off too, in case you didn't know.
I found a decent priced white G3 on CL, but guy said it's from Verizon. He said it works on ATT though ? But how's that possible ? Verizon is CDMA and ATT is GSM ?
And can the Verizon version be rooted and have full TWRP Recovery installed just like the international or T-Mobile version ? None of that stupid Safestrap weird crap like ATT phones need to go through
If you are going to use it on the AT&T network, make sure to get the D850 model so it can utilize all of their bands.
The D850 model I think is the official ATT version ? I don't want that due to the crappy locked down bootloader, you need to use some crazy method to install TWRP Recovery, and sort of like Safestrap crap, I HATE. I just want true root, and true real Recovery. No Safestrap type of garbage hoops to jump through.
Thx. Guy said it's VS985W
