Why is high speed ddr4 ram so hard to find now? Kinda

High-speed DDR4 was always a niche, premium product and DDR4 platforms are no longer "premium", DDR5 platforms are. DDR4 platforms are the "budget" option now and manufacturers aren't going to bother continuing to make expensive high-end DDR4 for a budget platform.

Same thing happened to DDR3 when DDR4 platforms became the new hot thing, same thing happened to DDR2 when platforms began exclusively supporting DDR3 (tho there was a long overlap there), same with DDR to DDR2, SDR to DDR etc.

Some of the first DDR4 made Samsung b die was the fastest.
Newer models that were made on smaller processes which made them cheaper per chip and with higher density's which made them cheaper per GB were unfortunately never able to match the performance of the more expensive b die.

Makes no sense.
When type "A" Ram is a big seller they offer shit sticks with high speed and crap timings.
Rinse and repeat on DDR5!
The folks that are obsessed on speeds are already jerking off to DDR5.

Manufacturers may be shifting to producing newer RAM types like DDR5, leading to fewer resources allocated to DDR4 production.
