Why does my SATA drive keep dropping?

This weekend I did a complete format and install on my new 500GB Western Digital Drive. After spending the better part of 3 hours installing, configuring, and rebooting I went to bed.

In the morning I powered the system on and got a 'Please Insert System Disk' error message. After going into the BIOS and redetecting the drive the system boots up fine. But now I would say 1 out of every 2 or 3 times, on a reboot, I 'lose' the SATA drive. If I go into the BIOS it redetects it, and boot fine, but this is obviously not acceptable.

Any idea what's going on?
 
boy you dont know how many guys out there were dying for your motherboard to be the evga 680i. anyway, try the western dig dos diagnostics that came with the drive. if its oem, download them from the wd web site.
