What I want to know is...it looks like a 6-core version of a Core i7 975. Same clock speed, etc. Except with 50% more cores. So, how is it supposed to maintain a TDP of 130W?

Yes, you would have to go native Linux, but what's wrong with that?With 12 logical cores would this not fall under the VMWare fail clause? I hate to thread-crap but the obvious draw to this is bigadv, but can you really leverage the full power of it on a single instance without going native Linux?

There aren't any new chipsets coming out for the LGA1366 platform, so I don't anticipate any problems with Gulftown CPUs being supported by current boards.Right, that was true with a lot of the C2x series but a lot of the mobo manufacturers wouldnt release bios updates cause they wanted you to buy a new board.
