Using an unreleased, unannounced droid phone
Will switch to the next in line when this one is released![]()
It sounds like Google is cracking down on that and working with manufacturers to get updates out for a minimum of two years after release on a limited timeline. Your problem with the Vibrant is T-mobile, not Samsung.I'm sick and tired of not getting updates to my phone for 8 to 12 months after it's been released (if ever), so if I stick with Android, I'm pretty sure it's got to be a Nexus phone. However I've been kinda disappointed with Android's stability and battery life and not sure if Ice Cream Sandwich is going to fix everything.
Using an Android. I fucking hate android.
Next: anything but Android, hopefully iPhone.
Fuck android.

Jeez, what's with the trolling fanbois lately?Using an Android. I fucking hate android.

Yeah, what T-mobile did was the straw that broke the camel's back for me so I'm taking my family plan to Sprint when the contract is up.Yeah, I know. Even more reason why I'm getting either a Nexus or iPhone. Carriers have way too much control on their branded Android phones. I can't believe Vibrant owners are not getting Gingerbread because T-Mobile decided not to support it anymore. Argh.
And I'm just not convinced that Google's "crack down" really has any teeth. Sounds more like a recommendation than anything. Google could pull their support (Google Apps), but I doubt they would if Samsung or the carriers still continue to not provide timely updates or support the products for 18 months. Just don't think anything really going to change.

I want a phone with a <= 4" screen and 1280x720 pixels, preferrably AMOLED or IPS. Good screen quality is most important for me. The 'normal' LCDs just look so sad when you had AMOLED.
Hopefully, the upcoming Nexus Prime will evolve in that direction. Concerning software, I see only three options: Stock Android, Android with HTC Sense or Windows Phone. Everything else is a no-go for me.
... I'll be getting either the international Galaxy S2, or LG Optimus 2X.
After my experiences with LG, I'm going to urge you to run like hell from anything with their logo on it. Holy hell, this has been the worst phone I've ever owned. Amazon can't ship me out a replacement soon enough.
Go Launcher is where its at.
Android.
Just upgraded again, to android.
With this new android phone, i don't even need a laptop anymore really.... so android, but not for another 3+ years.
Any hate on android is laughably nonsense, especially when they don't give a reason --- obvious fanboy hate.
Android does everything I need, and still has the hardware for things that aren't even available yet (Google Wallet). Should be getting it next month, though![]()
