what thumbdrive are you using ? do you like it ? pros / cons ...

i currently have a small 16mb one that was given to me as a present which gets filled up reallll fast so im gona get a 256 or 512 this week .. maybe even a 1gig if i can find a good deal ..

if you could just say what brand you have and alittle overview of size, quality , construction of the case that would be awsome

the one i have currently is made by "pendrive", the plastic case seems fairly weak and it is bulky which does not let it fit into some front USB slots on newer cases

** edit ** if you could also say if you have had any problems with certain brands that had storage problems like reading errors , loosing data , currupt files ect ect .. thanks ! **

i have a 128mb thumb drive which is more like a hand drive. the upside to its relatively garguantan size is its functionality. it also functions as a voice recorder and mp3 player. it runs on an aaa battery, which is not used when the mp3 player isn't going. think the creative muvo but better. I got this at compgeeks.com a while back for $70. pretty good deal at the time. i don't believe they carry them any more. oh well. it's called a muzic aera, and if you can handle a little korenglish you'll like it.

Well, I have a 128MB SanDisk thumbdrive that I got for my birthday and I have a 20GB laptop drive in an external USB 2.0 case...

guess which one gets more use. :p

All you have to do is format it to NTFS. works best under DOS. I did this with my cruzer mini and now it's much more stable and much faster specialy if you don't plan to use it on anything other then windows xp. If you do plan to use it on older OS like 98 or ME then you want to keep the fat32.

I have a 64mb PNY and like it just fine.. except it's too small.

And have the Dell 32mb freebie on the way supposedly.

256MB Sandisk MiniCruzer. Got it on sale at Best Buy for $50. I have the older model, that is slightly thicker then the newer model, but it has a write protect switch and the newer model doesn't. I like this drive personally, but I don't need any advanced features. Here's a nice article that compared some drives if you need more comparisons... :D

256mb Lexar Secure.

I'm not happy that it's just USB1.1, but at least it's built like a tank.

I should have a 32mb Dell on the way that I'll use for spyware/antivirus tools

(there's also the 40gb laptop drive...but that's a pocket drive rather than a thumb drive.

I know, but my school used 98 and 2000. 98 doesn't accept NTFS I belive.

Free 64mb one branded with the name of a drug company and their latest product ;-)

I think its actually a FastDisk or something like that, but what do I care? It was free =)

I use a Fuji 256mb usb1.1 drive...works great, its come in hnady several times....

I have a 128MB cruzer drive that won't work worth a damn in anything but linux. Windows is unable to write more than 1 file to it, before the computer needs to restart. I've looked around, and there are some serious issues with it and windows.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I have a 64MB Cruzer and a 256MB mini-cruzer and both work fine. I can copy tons of files back and forth without issues...

I have the 256MB Lexar Jump Drive Secure USB2.0. Works great with my wife's 2 Macs and my XP computers.

I'd really like the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium though and may purchase one. It allows you to sync your Outlook pst file with different computers and also allows you to read and access your email even from a computer that doesn't have outlook on it. http://www.sandisk.com/retail/cruzer-titanium.asp

I just got a 256mb lexar sport jumpdrive. Thing is built like a tank with the cap which wraps around the entire drive and which hooks onto a keychain (meaning no more lost caps). I haven't had time yet to really test it, but so far it looks pretty good, and best of all I don't have to worry about damaging it when its in my pocket. I got it for about 45 at amazon.

I have a PNY 128 meg USB 2.0 one. Works great on windows an macs, great for moving files back and forth between them. Has a write protect switch which is good for when I throw Ad-Aware on it to take to someone elses computer in the dorm and I don't want an infection to jump onto it. Also has a little light on it so I know when it's being written/read. Build quality is good, nice and small, has a cover for the usb plug. There isn't any place to snap it on when it's off...that might be the only downside to that part, but it's better than not having a cover to begin with.
