I'm looking at a new UPS. I want one with some kind of AVR because the power sucks around here. I'm looking at either of these two:

APC Back-UPS 1000VA
or
Cyberpower 1100VA

Looking at the details on their websites, the Cyberpower lists more Joules in their surge protection, 1500 vs 450 on the APC. Besides that I didn't really see much difference. I've always heard APC is the best to get, but is it worth an extra $40ish?

Which would you prefer?

Another question, Best Buy sells the BX models. There are no BX models listed on APCs website. The closest is the BR models. Are they the same?

Best Buy has a bit, maybe even a practice, of making brands they carry make models specific to their stores only. Why they choose to do this, I have no clue, but I'm sure its something to do with marketing. So the fact you cant find a model on their website, could mean that it was made specific for best buy.
