I am looking for an ultra-compact digital camera and I have a couple of requirements, small, good battery life, low noise for indoor shots, preferably uses SD cards, fast response time (next to no lag)

The ones I have seen that look ok are
Panasonic FX9 but it has noise indoors
Fujifilm Finepix F11 but it uses xD
Canon SD550/450 both are kind of eh

out of these or any others what would you recommend with price not being much of an issue

My cousin has the Casio Elim and, is hppy with that. I have the Nikon Coolpx 4600 and, like that. The exlim fits in an Altiods tin.

Everything has noise indoors. Canon's Digic chip is actually not so bad at fixing that.

I'd check out the SD30 or SD20 (if you don't need zoom).

Of the ones you listed the Fuji will have the lowest noise.

I have also been looking for an ultra compact. I was thinking of getting the Panasonic DMC-FX9K due to the image stabilization. I'm thinking it will help cause in a dark environment like a bar the IS will let you keep the shutter speed down thus less flash and less noise.

The Casio ultra compacts are also nice cause I think they have usable ISOs up to like 1200 or something.

OK Scratch the casio thing, I just checked the specs and it must have been some other brand that has the ultra high ISOs in their ultra compact.
