Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Crucial and Samsung are always my first choices. Although I also use Sandisk SSDs and flash. And I am talking about dozens of purchases between work and home.
Sabrent is generally what I recommend as the inexpensive option. They're using the same flash memory and controllers as basically everyone else.
If you need absolute fastest performance, then Samsung is still pretty much the top (specifically on their Pro branded lines, if you're buying Evo, you may as well buy from someone else), but you have to be prepared to pay 50%+ for the priveledge. And even in that case you should really question whether or not your particular use case will actually benefit. For games, you're not going to be able to see a perceptible difference one way or another.
