When I run CPU-Z it says that my Q6600 is a G0. If I run CrystalCPUID or Intel CPU ID, they say that it is a B6. When the system boots it says that it is using B6 micocode. Which is it, B6 or G0?

Yes you do have a G0 stepping Q6600. The full name of your stepping is B G0. The stepping is B with the revision being G0. Hence the full stepping of B G0.

FYI there are only two known Q6600 steppings: B3 and G0. Or their full stepping being 7 B3 and B G0. Though that B6 is quite puzzling.
 
Intel CPU ID shows mine as a B6 too, not that it really matters much, cpu-z shows g0 and 3.6 is rock stable for me.

If you have it running 100% stable at the speed you want it at, b6 or b3 or g0 wouldn't matter much would it?
 
I need the boltdown kit for my ninja rev. 2. One of the pushpins is 1/2 broken. Joy.

I'll take 70C Small FFT's all day with a busted mounting mechanism.

The temp honestly isn't too, too out of the norm for a quad anyway.

Nah, it's not horrible, but the suggested max by Intel is somewhere in the 62C range.
 
Temps under load for me hit mid 60's for the cores. For the CPU reading I get from 51C-61C over a 24hour span of prime. I've been running like that since August but rarely will my system get near those temps save for gaming which can get to 50's during extended sessions due to the video card dumping a massive amount of heat. Even doing something as crazy as running prime and 3dmark though will not push the 70C envelope for the cores in my box.
