Which one is better, I dont no because I just dont no.

6400+ Athlon 64 AM2 X2 Dual-Core 2048KB Cache FSB 2000MHz HT

OR

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6550 CPU @ 2.33GHz 1333FSB 4MB L2 Cache 64-bit
 
A lot of it depends on what you'll be doing with your machine. If you're going to be doing any type of media encoding at all, I would definitely go for the Intel. If you're just going to be doing some everyday type of stuff and maybe some gaming, then you might want to go with the X2 if it's going to save you a bit of money. You can either save that money or use it to put towards other components.

I have an E6400@3.4Ghz and an AM2 X2 4000+@3Ghz. For everyday use they feel the same. The X2 isn't my daily machine so I'm just using the X1250 integrated graphics on the board and haven't done any gaming with it. However, I doubt I would see much difference between the two if I dropped my 7600GT into the X2 system.

It all depends on your budget, what you want to do and what motherboard and/or chipset you want.

 
I've been a amd "fanboy" since the k6-2 days. Before that had a celeron 466 or something like that. Anywhos. My last cpu was a opty 165 @ 2.6ish that i bought on here pretested in essence. Was going to hold out till the new AMD "stuff" but after seeing some benchies and what not i said f*** it. I'm tired of waiting for nothing. So after playing with core duo laptops at work and such and reading everything. I went to the C2D also pretested from a forum member here. Honestly, if you say this at 2.0 and that at 2.0 is the same in daily use then well i guess a 500 hp car and a 150 hp car feel the same from stop light to stop light too! :p

PS: Incase you didn't get it. Coming from a amd fanboy, i'm telling you to buy the INTEL C2D! :)
 
What prices are you getting these at?

If they are relatively close and like mentioned above you are going to OC it at all the Intel wins no doubt.
