I'm in a little bit of a pickle of what kind of RAM I need. I do a lot of gaming and I want to overclock my Q6600 very well. I also want to have plenty of memory for Vista.

What would be best for my situation? My best guess was getting 2GB with a CAS latency of 4. What's your thought on it?

I was looking at this memory in particular.

I have that exact memory, and honestly, the answer depends on the kind of clocks you're looking for.

Any set of DDR2 800 RAM will allow you to hit a 3.6GHz OC with the Q6600 if you keep the FSB and RAM at a 1:1 ratio.

So I recommend this significantly cheaper RAM, even after that Corsair rebate:
G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ 2 x 1GB DDR2 800 RAM - $45

That Corsair RAM is ridiculously overpriced since you can get 4GB of RAM for that much:
G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ 2 x 2GB DDR2 800 RAM - $80

Your best bet for a good OC is to just get the G.Skill 4GB of RAM. You get more RAM plus it's only two sticks which means that you won't run into OC limitations with 4 sticks of RAM.

And no, you won't notice the lower latency outside of synthetic benchmarks.

Alright, thanks for responses guys. By the way, I was going for a 3.4GHz OC so I guess I'll be in the safe zone.
