Which Mem kit: Eco vs Rip

It would be very helpful if you can tell us exactly which motherboard you're going to use the memory on. Some i3/i5/i7 motherboards cannot set their VDIMM below 1.50V (either manually or automatically). If you have such a motherboard and install the ECO anyway, the VDIMM will default to 1.50V or 1.54V, which will shorten the useful life of the modules (if not burn them out).

I'd get 2 2x2GB kits instead since you save money.

I have the ADATA 1600mhz sticks and they work well in the 890GX board I have FWIW.

The ripjaws are nice i have them in my. But Ive herd that they have problems withe amd's not being able to set the correct speed and timings. I would go with considering a different type of ram like the OCZ AMD BE ram.

The problem with going this route is that you'll never know what you'd get. This is especially true with less-expensive kits, where multiple (perhaps dozens) of completely different revisions of the exact same part/model number are manufactured all simultaneously, and the distributors do not sort them as diligently as they should. As a result, I ended up with two completely different "revisions" of the same memory sold under the exact same revision number when I ordered two kits once (OCZ is especially guilty of this, at least on their Gold series) - and the modules from one kit proved to not work well at all with modules from the other kit. And the reseller would not take them back at all simply due to different revisions, forcing me to sell both kits at a loss.
