Make sure that Microsoft is the company that's going to support that laptop. Most times it's the hardware manufacturer. I've dealt with Microsoft hardware support for my Surface Pro and it wasn't that good. Average at best. Not much. If I do get it its from the Microsoft Store so I am getting the $29 ADH and extended warranty. I hear the Microsoft Store is really good with support.

Yes, it was over the phone. As usual Microsoft outsources they're phone support to India.Did you do it over the phone? Because I have a few actually B&M Microsoft stores near me that I can bring it to.

I have used both the Matebook X and the new Gen XPS 13. I would get the XPS 13, just felt overall better. But... If you want to save some coin then the Matebook X is no slouch either.
Get the Matebook X Pro. from the Microsoft Store with the PerformanceGuard warranty. They'll take care of you at the store instead of having to deal with phone support or Huawei directly. It's very much like taking an Apple product to the Apple store for support.
The Matebook X Pro. is great, especially at its price point. To get a XPS13 with 16GB of RAM and an i7 you pay at least $400 more and the only thing it has over the MBX Pro. is Windows Hello via its IR camera and possibly more lanes to its Thunderbolt ports.
The finish is another point. I kind of prefer the carbon fiber palm-rest of the XPS13 over the aluminum of the MBX Pro..
