Yay 1000 songs, Yet you can never choose

Yes yes playlists and so on but really,

"Hmm im happy i think il listen to, What the shuffle decides!"

It doesn't bother me. I mostly use mine for while I'm on my recumbent, or for audio books. For the bike, I just have a couple of favorite playlists, and for books, I usually only have one or two loaded at a time any way. Works for me.

Of course, ymmv.

what the HELL!?
That is such an unbelievable ripoff!

So let me get this straight, you can get a 20GB Mp3 player for $50 LESS than a 4GB Mp3 player, and you still get 5 times the storage capacity?

Apple has sunk to new lows.

Nah mate. Look at it this way. The Apple is in a league of its own - what other mp3 player with a color screen, irrespective of size, can you name with 4GB of flash memory, let alone for the price of $229 [student discount]?. The fact is that nothing else exists and the 30GB is much harder to say, jog or work out with, all things being relative. I have a 4GB Nano but will be buying a 60GB iPod w/Video to chuck in my glove compartment and hook up to my Pioneer head unit, but w.e floats your boat.

My wife will be using it at work (sit down job)...maily to listen to music without the hassle of changing cd's, or having to mess around with it.

Do you have to use itunes with the shuffle or nano? That would be a huge minus...

I use Winamp with http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=138888 to update miPod.

Well, I just recieved my wifes 2GB iPOD Nano (Black). Havn't had a chance to open it yet, but I will have to...to make sure it's in working order before xmas.

Damned impressive piece of hardware I must say...sounds awesome!

Thanks for all the help guys :)

Glad you like it. I was just about to post my own experience. I bought the nano for my non-techno-savvy wife for her Birthday in September. She loves it. She uses iTunes with it. She has podcasts updating for it and everything.

awsome thread, most informative thread I have read in a very very long time!

two thumbs up! :D

The nano can overclock pretty good. But you may need some additional cooling for it.

Who's going to use 60gigs anyways? Even 20gigs? I smell a pirate.

Right because putting all of Naruto, then Full Metal Jacket, the LoTR movies then whatever else you want only takes a small amount of space?

Funnily enough, even though I do have enough music to fill my 60 gig ipod, one of the reasons I chose it over the smaller capacities was because of its ease of use as a removeable drive. I can carry my gear from place to place easily, and with a larger capacity than any usb thumb drive. Sure its bigger, but hey, it'll be going with me anyway so I can listen to my muzak :)
