I am in the market for a pair of nice headsets. Which one of these are better Sennhiser HD280 pro or Sony MDR V600? My budget is $100. Any other headsets u guys recomend?
 
STAY FAR AWAY from the V600's. If you go Sony get the V6's. but between those two that you posted.. definitely the 280's. You might want to consider the Grado's SR60/80's too.
 
The HD280s isolate more, the v6's (aka Sony 7506) have a little better positioning and more bass. If you do search online (Froogle etc.) look for the v6's. They are $20-30+ cheaper than the newer 7506 model, and there aren't any real sonic differences.
 
Hmmmm ok, should i just order the Sony MDR V6's for $69.95? I just wanna hear Music from my PC with great sound that will blow me away, for around $100

General concensus on head-fi is that they are a little overpriced at $100 for sound quality, when in comparison with others in the same price range.

One word of warning before you buy, is that the v6 has a coiled cord. You might not like this feature very much. If you don't mind large size (but very lightweight), Audio-Technica ATH-a500s would run extremely well out of your computer, and give you the best positioning and sound quality out of the three. Unfortunately you'll have to import them from Jpn, and the best site is Audiocubes at $109 + $7.50 shipping.

If you want to do more research, head over to the head-fi forums and register a nick. Then run a quick advanced search for $100 in thread "titles" and you should see a dozen+ discussions about best 100 dollar cans.
