im having alot of problems with my motherboard right now and it wont boot my x2 4400 even with a new bios chip... and asus customer service sucks ass. so i was wondering if i should go to DFI and if i do which of there mobos are the best?

I have the LP NF4 SLi-DR and it's amazing. Highly recommended. If you want SLI, go for the SLI-D or the SLI-DR, if you want to keep the cost down a bit with no SLI then go with the Ultra-D. You can't go wrong with any of them.

They pretty much all have the same OCability. Just find the one that has the features/extras you want (LanParty boards I'm talking about...not their budget ones).

Well, I will warn you that, if you haven't looked to much into the DFI boards that there are a host of chronic problems with them that have been with the AMD DFI boards since the NF2 chipset. The cold boot problem, along hosts of others are problems for a significant number of users. Take a look at what DFI_Dashi has to say in the thread provided below. While his (and consequently my) experiences are based of the same set of events, it will at least offer some good balance to the very pro-DFI fans on this board.

Just for the record, the cold boot issue has long since been solved with a bios update. I personally have had no strange issues with my SLi-DR.

I think the cold boot was last seen @ the nf3 board. Havent heard of NF4 problems like those anyways.

I bought a LP Ultra-D and quite happy.

I would argue otherwise, actually. The cold boot issue has been supposed to have been solved with the more recent BIOS updates, but persists in the face of these updates. There have been a few posters on DFI Street, with the most recent BIOSes, and NF4 boards, that still encounter the problem.

well all i can say is out of the ten i built-- i've had 0-cold boot problems.

the only problems i have had with the ultra d--was a slightly odd clear-cmos after power down-- a bios up date fixxed that.-- i haven't seen a completlly trouble free nf4 yet--of any brand. -- the DFI with the proper bios updates seems to be a fine MB.

as for the problems over at DFI street--i figure they just got some of that bad batch of mb's that might still be floating around.
