I have an option to get the following monitors from a local reseller who gets them off-lease. Which is the best for gaming, and everyday computing? If you had the choice which would you get and why? :D

How much, and where would I find one of those bohemoths?

WOW your talking about 300$+ instead of 90-130$ range. I asked for help deciding between one in this class. :p
 
The P1130 model looks nice , actualy it appears to have identical specs as my Sony G520P which is a great monitor ,only part I dont get is why the P1130 is listed as both a 4:3 and 5:4 aspect CRT on Dell's site (link) , I guess they had two variations of it... I'd want the 4:3 version.

edit: hrm just noticed the P1130 is lacking dual vga inputs and the brightness toggle button on the front(known as super bright mode on other monitors), so i guess its not exactly like my G520P ,It still has decent specs but the IBM model does have dual inputs (if thats important to you). All of the monitors you listed have trinitron / aperture grille crt's and all have the same .24mm vertical pitch ..so I'd just go for the one with the best specs.
 
Ok, just bear with me for a second. I am not used to shopping for agood monitor. I have always used what I had or was given, etc. What specs should I be looking for in a monitor?


I plan on using a fairly high desktop resolution, and using it for Websites, pics, everyday stuff. Also I plan on using it for different games at lower resolutions + higher refresh rates, as well as games at higher resolutions as well. I am looking I guess for a good all through the resolution/refreshrate monitor.

What would be the difference between a P1110 and a P1130 to justify a 40$ difference?
How do these stack up versus say a Samsung SyncMaster 997MB 19" new?
 
AFAIK, the p1130 is the newer model of the 1110 (using one right now at work). I can't imagine what the 1130 would be cheaper unless it is condition related.

I would get one of those trinitrons if you can check it out.

Maker sure it is reasonably sharpe at 1600x1200.

Maker sure you can turn down the brightness so black is nice and black.
 
No Diamondtron monitors listed because the poster is buying from a local reseller.

I have a Dell P1130 that I picked up for $100 off craigslist. It's an awesome monitor, and at $89 it's a great deal. I don't know about the other monitors listed though, the P275 looks like a great deal at that price as well. Also, my monitor has dual VGA inputs.

It's likely the P275 and P1130 are identical--although the specs on azatek differ. I'd recommend taking whichever looks better between the two. Ask the seller if you can try them out before buying.

Also, should a user named "bAcKpAiN" be lugging around a 60 pound monitor? :D
 
The IBM monitor is the only one with DVI

I've seen it. I think its a great tube...$90 is a great price.
 
I got the P1130 it is a beast! I like it sofar, and yes it has dual inputs and does 1280 x 1024 @ 100Hz. Thats what I'm talking about!!

Anyway my first impressions are that I am going to like this monitor. I have yet to adjust because I had gotten used to the sharpness of an LCD, but this thing hands down looks more life-like and realistic.
