Of the following three boards which would you choose? They all meet the requirements for me, now I am just trying to decide from the three.

ASUS M5A88-M
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3
MSI 760GM-E51 (FX)
 
The ASUS. Has better chipset and more importantly SATA3 connectors.
The Gigabyte has all solid capacitors and thus, could live maybe longer, but the SATA2 connectors are deal breaker. You ll probably change hardware before the ASUS dies anyway.

The MSI, i wouldn't trust it with 125W FX processor, since it's 4+1 phase and mATX with no cooling on VRMs, and MSI has a history of catching fire under high stress on such cheap boards.


Go for ASUS IMHO.
 
That is the one I have been planning on (Asus) but keep second guessing myself for some reason. Easier to do that when not pressed for time.

Yes, that's definitely a big deal breaker, isn't it? LOLOL! :D

I mean, people scorn Asrock, but even mATX Asrocks, have a safety valve on them. If VRMs get too hot, CPU is throttled down. I can't believe MSI after all her incendiary past with 8xx chipsets, still doesn't want to protect her boards from going out in flames.

EDIT: At this poor guy, they even denied him RMA!

I have dealt with msi support with a netbook before, in over 20 years of computer experience I have never had so much trouble with in warranty support. I am sad to see that my experience was not an isolated event.
