The reviews of the new ATI video has been dissapointing, but i am one of the few that have a Bad Axe 2 motherboard with a quad core and have full intentions on gettting a crossfire rig setup.

What I noticed in the NVIDIA side of things, I see that EVGA has some unique offers such as life time warranty, and a trade up program. Does ATI partners offer any incentive that would make the choice a lot easier.
 
I believe ATI itself has a trade up program. Where I live, the two primary AIB partners for ATI's products are PowerColor and Sapphire. They both do very well, but usually Sapphire's bundle is a bit fuller, if that's a factor in your decision. I too am getting an HD 2900XT as soon as it is in stock locally, and I'm going with the Sapphire, unless the HIS is available. I run Vista 64, so this card will run just fine for me! All those little girls still hanging onto mama XP's skirt-tails can wave their nPhallus at each other all they want, it isn't going to roll back the clock to a time before Vista and DX10.

FYI, ATI only offer trade-up to USA/Canadian customers, eVGA's is worldwide (or at least covers the UK, that's all I'm interested in)

Why go with HIS if it is available?
 
Oh, for no good reason: I know a fellow here who already has one and he raves about it. Since I've yet to try an HIS product, this might be a time to try. The same vendor also carries the Sapphire, so if the HIS is lacking, I can just trade it for a Sapphire.

Ah. I am trying to decide which brand and I'm leaning more towards HIS cause I've heard good things but their warranty is only 1 year. Makes me wonder if I should go with Sapphire (2 years) or PowerColor (possible lifetime).
 
In the past i have been a fan of ASUS, and just wondering if there were any other partners that can offer the same or something different. The software bundle is not a big factor nor any other trial period software that they might come bundled with the new 2900 cards.



I just trying to find a solid ATI partner that can give me service, support and waranty when neeeded, especially running Vista 64.

well as it seems right now all the 2900 xt are the exact same with just each companies sticker slapped on. so no pros or cons which you buy right now.
 
I used to buy BBA cards only. But since ATi reduced the warranties associated with their cards, therefore now i prefer Sapphire and HIS.
 
2 of those things in one case? God, I hope you're water cooling!

I could live with the extra $2 or $3 a month on the electric bill, but my single 8800GTS already heats up my computer room in a couple of hours if I close the door.
 
Water cooling is in the future, i have most of the parts, just need some different fittings and and another gpu water block.
Not worried about power consumption.
just worried how the hell am i going to cram in two 2900 in a silverstone case.

what do you guys know about Diamond? i mean they're just shipping the factory clocked card reference model, so technically all these launch cards are the same. anyway i just ask if anyone has had personal experience with this brand.

Diamond has been around for a long time. Back in the VESA Local Bus days is when I first remember them. They were the eVGA of video cards back in the day.
