Have a friend wanting a new display. I'm going to be suggesting the Dell U2311; but as I'm not sure how much she's wanting to spend, I'd like to have a recommendation for a solid TN in the $100-150 range as well. Might also be nice to know if there's a 27" 1920x1080 that's any decent in case she wants a larger physical display. I know that the Acer G245H used to rate up there, but the price is higher than I remember it being ($200 plus now as opposed to a remembered $150ish, has it stopped being made?) At that point I'm not sure why not to just go with the 2311 instead? Well... I guess better blacks and no AG sparkle.
As for requirements, she used to be a medical illustrator so I'd imagine decent color reproduction would be required, and I'm pretty sure wide-gamut would be out as it'd over-saturate things. Also she games a good deal, mostly WoW, Dragon Age, Mass Effect kind of stuff. Not so much into real FPS games. So while ghosting would be a concern a bit of input lag wouldn't. Would probably also be used for watching movies. I'm also thinking that glossy would be a deal-breaker due to lighting. Which'd eliminate the G245H.
Suggestions?
