• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Where's the NOOB section?

I'm new to building my own system, and I need to replace my mobo and cpu, but I'm severely lacking in knowledge to figure it out for myself. I think I'm just annoying people on here asking all these basic questions.

Is there a forum for noob questions like this. Or is it just a really steep learning curve?

example: which is better e8400 or q6600 (http://www.hardforum.com/search.php?searchid=10438696) THAT is ridiculous

Or the other variation: Dual core VS Quad Core, E8500 VS Q9550, ec.

Seriously OP, don't ever ever ask those two questions. Probably the most annoying and redundant question asked on the forums

Anyway, just check the General Hardware section. There's even an FAQ there for newbies like you to computer hardware. And definitely use the search feature.

Start out in General Hardware and after you feel comportable with the overall operation of your computer, start branching off into the individual forums for the parts you need information about.

Thanks for all the feedback, even the sarcasm. It's always good for a laugh. Seriously, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate all the help, and most of all, the patience.

You must pay to get into the NOOB section. Also known as Pale Shadow of the Former GenMay ;)
