Anyone know if there will be any reference Nvidia box's released anytime soon? The one they used to showcase the Ion would be perfect for my movie box in my bedroom. Given thre are some small ion box's out there now but I want that tiny lil mofo nvidia showcased with, they better be releasing those soon =.=

A picoITX ION...

I really wish nVidia actually sold those (those were the reference units).

(And no, I don't think there were any takers for the manufacturing part).

According to most previews of it and what NV has said publicly the reference design kind of sucks for media because it's held back by it's single channel memory design. Any of the production Ion products don't have that problem since they are all dual channel enabled.

In short, I wouldn't want one of the reference systems.

Yeah... but it's small.

;) I'd rather have something a tad bigger if it means it performs better (THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! LOL).

Mini ITX is the perfect size (IMO) for things like this. You can easily build something small, like DVD player small, without worrying about overheating or anything like that.
(Side note: these discussions always make me lol cause it reminds me of the Tom's article where they tried to squeeze a damn Prescott P4 into a DVD player sized case! Suffice to say, they killed the mobo and the CPU due to overheating.)

Well... at least ION (underclocked?) won't have that issue!

But.. it's so small.

(This is NOT the setup for a: that's what she said joke!)

Tiny... HTPC (somewhat).

This concept might raise prices of HT/HDTV by 300USD, but... seriously... this can destroy a good 50% (my guess) of current HTPC setups!
