When are points awarded to your stats page? Does this occur whenever you complete the WU completely? I'm just a bit confused perhaps and was wondering this, as my stats do not show that I started a new WU today. Which of course, I did.

Alright, first of all WELCOME...

You will be seeing the points as your WU is completed and gets uploaded to the servers. They update their points I believe on a three hours basis. Depending when you upload it, it may take you three or so hours before you see your first points.

Points are only given when the WU are uploaded to Stanford.
 
Your points get awarded after you upload the finished work unit.
Depending on exactly you upload the data, it can take a couple of hours before it shows up as the data from Stanford only gets updated every 3 hours.

I still run a PIII 800 because of folding. Well, it does other stuff too. I have a secondary rig I use in case my main rig is down for some reason or too busy with something. The second is an XP1700+ which is folding and that's about all it does. It's being replaced with an X2 4000+@2.9Ghz running the SMP client. The XP1700+ is going to be my son's rig. I'm also bringing a T-Bird 1.2Ghz on line just for the hell of it. It was going to be my son's rig until I got the X2 parts rather cheap.

Computers need something to do so all mine run either F@H or WCG. Besides, how am I supposed to use the systems in place of the furnace when it's cold if they aren't running 100% 24/7. Because of the ones I have, my furnace hasn't been on half as much as it normally would so far. And yes, this is cheaper heat than running the furnace.

Basically, if my computers aren't crunching on something, they are going to waste. This includes when I'm using them or they are just sitting around. I'm too impatient to wait for them to boot up so they are going to be on 24/7 anyway and besides, they are even more useless when turned off as far as I'm concerned.

 
You guys have it made. Here in South Florida, with computers running, you're creating more heat, which we have plenty of in the first place. As of this post it is like 75F out.
 
I am able to shut a radiator off in my computer room and keep it around 70F from 2 boxes, hopefully 3 soon. It is 38F outside.

Actually, I think the rest of the rooms with the radiators on are colder at the moment. Summer is not such a happy story though...
 
Yea it's been ~45 highs and ~30-35 lows, and I keep the computers in my bedroom with the window OPEN 24 hours a day....Leaves the bedroom at a nice comfortable ~65F :D

Summer can be a bit warm up here in washington, but opening the windows at night to cool things down, then circulating the air w/ a fan during the day generally keeps it comfortable.
