I love my Opteron, but in all seriousness, real world it's not really that much quicker.. the only difference I noticed is when extracting large files with WinRAR.

For all of you who don't know what I'm comparing it to...

I had a Sempron 2800+ @ 2.2ghz...
Now I have an Opteron 146 @ 2.6ghz.

You know I wouldn't go so far as calling the Opterons OpterOWNS They clock higher in benchmarks but when most people try Priming 24 hrs, they usually end up 100-200mhz higher than the average Venice, and these are the good ones. You don't see many 3.0ghz air Opterons Prime stable for 24 hrs.

Yea I know, the opties clock really pretty but when it comes down to Prime, they are only better than the Venices by an marginal amount.

People bought the 3200+ because it's such a steal. A 3200+ at 2.8GHz is roughly equal to an FX-55. Not bad...

yea cache makes very little diffrence most of the time, but it dose make some, and when if comes down to it mine is faster than any 512kb CPU at the same speed...

Diffrent apps show diffrent results from 512kb vs 1mb, so its better to have it and not worry about it than not have it and waste time trying to explain how its not needed...
