No LCD tech is superior in every way, they all have their drawbacks.
TN has the price advantage and in some cases faster displays - if thats all your after then a TN might be the best solution.

That said, EIPS seems promising and as a tech I consider it to be the best in general. But thats me and for my needs.
 
E-IPS monitors are decent.They are the cheaper version of IPS panels.(S-IPS and H-IPS) are better panels then E-IPS generally.Even the difference is not big,minimal the E-IPS panels are
cheaper to produce then the H-IPS & S-IPS and the performance dfference is little.
 
I thought someone had linked to a paper saying e-ips was actually enhanced ips, so better than s-ips, h-ips. Can anyone confirm this?

No. E-IPS is a detuned IPS panel that makes it less costly to manufacture. But the tech is not better than S-IPS and H-IPS. It's sort of the economy line of IPS panels. You'll have to research what detuned means if you want a technical explanation of it.

Also OP, keep in mind that just because a panel uses a given technology doesn't mean it's automatically better than something else. Every monitor is going to perform differently unless it uses the exact same panel as the one you compare it against. TN, e-IPS, PVA, S-IPS, H-IPS all have strengths and weaknesses and you have to decide what's important to you and look at how that particular display performs in that regard.

ToastyX disagreed with this assessment. I don't know what his source was, but available information seems to bear this out. Given the similarity in specs between the 2490WUXi2 and LP2475W against the 2490 v.1, it seems possible that the 2475W really is e-IPS. Also, we aren't seeing anything but e-IPS (or eH-IPS, if that's the same) in upcoming models (see also: dell 2410 rumors.)
 
The 2475w is H-IPS, we have photos of the pixel structure, it may be eH-IPS, but it is H-IPS for sure.
 
The "e" in IPS is supposed to stand for "efficient". Apparently it has better light transmission/filtering characteristics requiring fewer backlight tubes and thus, lower cost.

This newer type of IPS panel only differs from H-IPS of the current generation in one way: Standard sRGB vs wide gamut. That's pretty much it. Pixel structure is the same, and response times seem to actually be better. As Nomu points out above, it is H-IPS, but with "efficiency".

To answer AR09, there is nothing that is better overall. S-PVA can have slightly better black levels, but at a cost of off-angle horizontal color shift, and high input lag. TN has slightly better response time, but has massive vertical color shift, and 8-bit color achieved by extra steps that can cause flickering or dithering.

eIPS has good response time, low input lag, good black levels, excellent color stability on and off angles, and can be calibrated to have nearly perfect color accuracy. Basically it is an overall great performer.
