I have a coolermaster centurion 5 and i wanna do some mods to it but idk what to cut with.i wanna cut holes to run wires and add a blowhole so i was thinking rotary tool but i dont have one. so whats a good cheap one?
 
you can get a dremel at home depot or lowes under 100 bucks, or a craftsman one at sears.
 
i was looking through worklogs and some person had a black and decker that he got for 30 where can i find that?
 
he said he got it at walmart but i dont see it on the site so i dont know if they still have it.
 
be sure to use the carbon fiber cutting disks, I cut 2 hole in the motherboard tray of mine yesterday and went through about 8 or 9 of those little brown ones.

It mostly depends on how steady your hand is, perosnally I find it easier to cut round holes with a holesaw, (as mentoined above,) or a Jigsaw. For me I have a hard time getting a nice round cut out of a dremmel, much cleaner on the straight cuts.
 
IMO Dremel is great for small detail work, if you are cutting anything of any size I am with Adidas4275, a jigsaw with fine tooth metal cutting blade or a metal cutting hole saw in a hand drill is the only way to go. Various small files (flat and round) come in handy as well.

For Gods sake if you do dremel with cutoff disks wear eye protection those disks love to explode. Buy the bulk pack of disks.
 
I bought a Durabilt branded rotary tool at Target for $25 that worked well. It also came with an "flexshaft". I also bought a Dremel from Radioshack as a backup that was on sale for $19.99 but I haven't used it yet.

Like the others guy have said, get the fiber glass reinforced cutting disks, those regular brown cutting disks aren't really made for cutting metal.
 
Long straight cuts = Jigsaw with a high tooth per inch blade...

Weird or circular cuts = Dremel or wholesaw.
 
Every serious modders tool box should include at least the following...

Tap and Die Set
Rotary Tool (Dremel)
File Set (Round and straight)
Drill Bits
Drill
Soldering iron

If you have the following tools, most jobs would be too tough... as mentioned, a jigsaw would help get the job done nicely.
