lapped E6300 on stock air
2gb OCZ gold ram. 4-4-4-12 timings (i think its 12)
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L/S3L

have it at 2.45ghz now. I went to 2.55ghz but it didn't work out so well.

should hit 2.8+ easily maybe get better cooling I suggest the Arctic freezer 7 pro

Is your ram pc2 6400? if so its 5-5-5-12 but should easily do 4-4-4-12

set your fsb to 400, your ram 1:1 and your timings to 5-5-5-12, bump the vcore and chipset a bit (voltage)

my temps are low. like 30 to 32 degree's. so i dont think thats a problem.

going to try a few things you listed.

like the other guy said make sure your ram is set to 1:1 while you are pushing your chip, you dont want to have the ram holding you back.

have you given it a little vcore boost yet ? if not bump it a little, check the OC database to see how much other people have had to use.

you also want to make sure you have that auto overclock disabled on that board.

got it to 2.51ghz and 1432mhz FSB stable. upped the voltages of the vcore to 1.325 and upped ram voltage alittle. Thats posting at 875mhz i think?

i need a bracket for my zalman cpu cooler. but i dont think temp is what's holding me back.

Name Intel Conroe
Package LGA 775
CPU ID BFEB-FBFF-0000-06F6
Type Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
Technology 65 nm
Brand ID N/A
Family: 6 Model: f Stepping: 6
Ext Family: 6 Ext Model: 0f

thats my CPU information.. if anybody can use that to determine what my stable high speeds coul dbe.

:p telling you, set your ram 1:1 and just clock it to 400fsb(1600 QDR) that will make your ram 800 and ur cpu 2.8ghz

man 2.8ghz isnt enough :D. doesnt his mobo have a good high fsb tolerence? around 500? Mine cant handle 470+ so I am stuck at 3.2 but I am sure he could get 3.3 -3.4.

My fsb is 462 and my ram is 925 so 1:1 fsb/ram.

Smart-ass answer: 1.83GHz
Not-so-assy answer: Anywhere between 2.6-3.4-ish.

Try putting voltage through it. 1.35-1.4 should get you some speed. Hell, I need 1.37v.

All the E6300's I've worked with can hit 3.4GHz-3.5GHz pretty easily. I've seen one or two that couldn't, and those that couldn't were good for about 3.2GHz. The worst ones I've heard of were only good to about 2.8GHz or so. Still not bad for such a cheap processor that only runs at 1.86GHz stock.
