What would be the best ATI card I can buy for around $150-$200? I am probably like many people on here a Gamer, so game performance is a major factor for me. What would give the best bang for my buck?

I have read some forums from other sites and for the most part ATI cards that were recommended were 9600XT family. Would you say thats a fair recomendation?
 
well I would like to get a 9800 pro but thats just out of my price range. And Im sticking to the ATI cards. Nothing against Nvidia cards, but Ive always been an ATI guy :p
 
You could get a 9800 pro on ebay for less than $200 shipped. Just make sure it's 256bit, because otherwise you could get it at newegg for less than $200 as well.

You can also get a 256bit 9800 pro on Newegg for $199. So if you can just manage to scroung a few more dollars for shipping then you would be good. Really at the pricepoint your at your either looking at easily getting a 9600XT or a barely getting a 9800 pro, and the 9800 pro is definitely a far better choice so I would scrounge the dollars to make that happen... Just skip a couple lunches and you should be fine.
 
Oh god, the 6600GT and the 9800Pro are in the $200 price range. There is no reason to go 9800Pro... :rolleyes:

6600GT (AGP) is the budget card at that pricerange. ATi really needs to drop the prices on the 9800Pro's. Maybe to $150, if they want them to compete with 6600GT's.
