well my mx700 refuses to recharge my batteries now and i have to recharge them manually and even then it blinks red and dies daily... so what are my options now?... i wonder if cordless is a good idea considering how poor quality the mx700 was... g7 is way overpriced.... cheapest i saw would come to $80+ cdn after shipping and taxes... g5 is just a few $ less... the new mx revolution is $95 without taxes/shipping.... kinda lost trust in logitech since theres no 64bit drivers for mx700... so if i dont buy the latest and greatest it wont support vista... what do i buy?... mx518? but would that get vista drivers?

Modern cordless is amazing!
I have an MX1000 and dont want for more.
A friend who is an avid Counterstrike source player liked it so much he bought one.

The newer Logitech mice are so well recieved I'm tempted to get one.

ps I dont use the logitech drivers, they can be a pain.
I miss using the left/right scroll wheel but have no other issues.
pps my MX1000 battery lasts over a week between charges with a lot of use.

well as far as i know in windows xp without logitech drivers you only get 200dpi (my mx700 is 800dpi) and they feel different

I cant tell any difference with mouse resolution between using MS drivers and Logitech ones.
Acceleration is set to zero and the mouse speed tweaked until its the fastest it can go but still move 1 pixel at a time.

have you tried getting some new nimh AA batteries? The ones that come with that mouse are of very poor quality. I chucked my batteries out after I opened the package when I bought mx700 a long time ago. I got some energizer 2500mah AA's that worked great.
