I cannot get any Physx control setting to show up in the Nvidia Control Panel. I just did a complete new install of Windows 7 RC 64 and no Phsyx settings anywhere either separate or integrated in the 3d settings. I even installed the Physx software separately.
I get the Physx Cp now but it sends me to the NV CP. There are NO physx setting any where in the NV CP that I can find, that includes the 3d settings. This does Not happen with the 186.18 drivers only with the 190 series. Is there anybody in the collective hoard that knows what is going on here? PS I disabled antivirus so everthing would install correctly. Is there a hidden setting? Thanks for any info.

Specs Foxconn G31 MOBO, Asus 9600 GSO 384 MB, 4 GIG DDR2 800, Celeron E1500 DC, Liteon DVD burner, WD 500. WIN 7 RC64.

Considering it was me you referred me to. I have had this problem before, never did solve it. Now heres a new one for you. I just installed an HP OEM 8400GS PcI-e 1x 256 meg card in the 1x PCIe slot. Reinstalled the drivers 186.18 and now I don't have any phsyx again. I thought you could use a second card for phsyx. . Where is the phsyx setting? No they are not in the NV CP panel, not in the Physx CP it sends me back to NV CP, and not in the program menu. I can't possibly be the lonly one with this issue. There has to be an answer.

Again thanks for any help

dude my bad lol, i never read through that thread, i just remember noticing that YOU had the same problem lol, im sorry.

I got it to work.I had totally remove all nvdia drivers disable my virus checker. Reinstalled and it picked up both cards. 8400gs isn't worth crap as a physx card though.

That is because the 190.xx drivers have raised the minimum requirement for PhysX capable GPU's. A card now requires at least 32 stream processors and 256mb of memory to allow PhysX to run on it.

The 8600 series is the lowest capable now.

8400 will only work for physx with 186.xx drivers.

Actually there was a review awhile back (http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,...hysx-effects-benchmark-review/Reviews/?page=2) that showed the 9800GTX to be an ideal PhysX card. The 8400 actually gave a huge performance hit over single card because it's just too slow.

I had heard something about 64 stream processors being the minimum. So if Install the 190.xx driver for my Zotac ION it will no longer support physx? So much for the Nvidia bragging about their 9300-9400 chipset doing physx_!

32 is the new minimum.

It won't be long before my 9800gt is going to be 'minimum', too.

does this effect all cuda like folding or just PhysX?
