lol wow 800$ in parts... that makes the case.... 2200$

thore

"Only 5 will ever be made".. lol.

Actually, that looks pretty badass. That would be a really cool case mod for someone to try. (refine the looks to make it look a little better though) It would be easy, and look at how much air you get to the thing. Open face architecture ftw! :D

It doesn't exactly look hard to build though...just a couple of (thick) sheets of aluminium and some plexi.

I wonder if you can sue if you trip, fall, hit the system and electricute yourself. because its all open... or if they would replace your curious cat after you scraped him off the wall/cieling

Interesting, but horribly ugly. I do like the fact that it's open airflow. A quiet CPU cooler, VGA cooler, and PSU is all you'd need to make it durn near silent. They should sell the case by itself though...and make it stop being horrendously ugly.

Funny thing is, they're from Columbia, Missouri, which is only about 1.5 hours from me.

I'm almost certain Cat Insurance only comes with cases with the names 'Gamer Edition', 'Ninja', and 'eXtReMe.'

You can't sue if you are dead. :D Electrocution means you died.. now, a shock you could get. I've got some pretty good shocks off a mobo before in some of my older computers. :p Its nothing that bad though. A good shock from inside the PSU hurts quite a bit though if you take a screwdriver and stick it in there. It caused me to rip my arm out so fast the the screwdriver flew across the room.. LOL. It was an Antec 550w. I was working on it, then my friend plugged it into the wall for a joke. Needless to say it was a pretty good joke.

Wildly overpriced crap.
QFT!

You ask what it is. Well it's someone's idea to attract customers by making some wild over the top custom. The thing is terribly ugly. Only going to make 5 THANK GOD. Which is really 5 too many.

its a XOTEK, says right on the site thats its a XOTEK

With a patented, caseless, system frame combined it with todays hottest hardware and you have a gaming machine that will impress both visually and digitally. Look great while fragging your friends.

hottest hardware? heh

lol, be nice.. Not everyone is as much a compuphile as most of the members of this site :p

This rig will attract the wannabe fanatics who want a unique looking, resonably performing rig on which they dont have to do work :p

I dont know guys, I kinda like it. It's hard to profit off of small runs like that. The only thing I don't like is the extensive use of his logo. Included should be your own custom logo in place of his.

Would make it seem more personal.

man.. with the right tools.. you could make that / something similar in a day or two...

try making 3k in a day :p and if you do.... wanna be friends?

*sigh*

And we had so much hope for this one.....

:D

Oh give me a break :p heh

It's art, I enjoy it. My cases would rock the socks off this guy though.

Wow, $3,000 for that?

And I'm madonna

WOW and I know the guy who 'designed' /made this case, he's a goldsmith/jeweller, who now has a computer shop. I saw the "prototype" in his shop I didn't believe him when he said it was a prototype cause it meant he was actually gonna produce them!!!! my eyes hurt!

I don't like the case much, but the idea is very interesting and has lots of potential. I might have to take a stab at a (much better looking) knock-off someday.

Looks like something you would see on Nickelodeon. I don't really care for the design. Guess I just like simple cases that hold my hardware for the 6 months to a year that I own it. I have a long haired cat, I would be pulling fur out of that thing every 15 minutes.

Sheesh, why all the hate? Someone took a stab at producing something different and I would bet that he will sell them quickly too. If this had been produced in a work log here it would be a popular thread. The idea isn't a bad one - other's have done similiar open-air designs, usually hanging on a wall. So the idea doesn't work for you, that doesn't mean you have to hate it and be so rude. This isn't aimed at anybody in particular, it just seems that rude comments like this are occuring more and more lately.

think of it as an abstract painting.... you think you should get one.. but you know they are fucking pointless to existance....

Its aesthetically aimed at 10 year olds, and costs $3000. Even the name is insulting, "lets name it exotic, but leave off the E so itll be edgy and hip!"
The people on H dont try to mass manufacture complete CRAP and sell it either. And here I thought those alien/robot face cases looked as bad as any computer can look. Ive been proven wrong.

I think there is a general dislike at those who try to pass off their bad mods as being sellable. He would have better luck selling without any hardware at all. In that respect, $1500 would have still been a bit much when you see exactly what's underneath it all.

IIRC the guy who did the chopper pc (who was trying to sell them in different flavors) was bragging how his case is "the best ever created".......He was selling his in the $3xxx range but I hardly believe he'd sell more than a few.

I'd venture to say those folks are delusional. The only mods that command a hefty price such as that are one-off's customized for the person buying it.

i like it.. but hey thats just me. like qtip said logo is a little over used other then that its pretty damn sweet

Don't think of it as "Hate."

It's horribly overpriced. If you think it's beautiful and 'cheap' I recommend you buy two or three of the hottest (cough) PCs that guy makes with parts from 2003.

I think alot of us are just surprised that he's trying to sell what should cost $500 from Dell, for $3000.
