Sell my brand new 10 day old 5850 and buy a 5870??? the 5850 is nice i just feel that its a bit lacking in crysis

That upgrade will not give you a big, fundamental change in the Crysis gameplay experience. So I wouldn't bother.

It's astonishing that after all this time video cards still can't quite "dominate" Crysis like you might expect. Personally I'd stick with what you have, and leave the final pwning of Crysis to the next generation of cards.

thats what i was thinking myself earlier today. its amazing that after all this time when crysis was first released they are still behind on getting graphics cards that can max the game. from august 2007 wich makes a bit over 2 years and the cards are still bleh

Runs fine for me at 1920x1080 2xAA and the rest of the settings maxed. Close to 40fps avg. You could always push the core clock on the 5850 to ~900mhz and ram to 1200mhz.

The only thing that would make me happier is more AA, but really I don't notice jaggies at my settings anyway.

Keep the card!

Do it, i went from a 5850 crossfire to a 5870, much happier, crysis was my main personal benchmark.

edit* had both 50's and 70 running at 1ghz core

lol the reason crysis fps are low (40ish avg) is because the cryengine was never fully optimised. hence why the "cryengine 2" is coming cryengine 2= optimized cryengine

most like i will be. for some reason im just not happy with the 5850. i should of just bought a 5870 when i had the chance.

Or you know, CryEngine 3 is coming and CryEngine 2 is released and was used in Crysis Warhead :). The trailer for CryEngine 3 is below if your interested. Its fun to watch and looks great visual quality wise.

I wouldn't just for Crysis. I tried Warhead on stock clocks just to see how it would run when I first got the card. It isn't playable to me with enthusiast settings at 19x12. Yea you will get a slight improvement over the 5850, but the 70 is no Crysis slayer either. Be happy in every other game and get a new card in a year or ten when there is a card that can give you 60+fps stable in Crysis.
