#1. Dell Power edge server HDD suddenly died...
#2. random amd box... For the first time... I heard the CLICK OF DEATH! Of course non other to hear it on than a IBM Deskstar (go figure)
Any place to find free or very very cheap hdd's for these? I guess they need to be atleast 2gb each though! ;) Well its the weekend, time to sit back & relax. <end> complainant </end>

If they are just folding boxen, just find any hard drive that is at least 200 meg and you can install Foldix on it.

Or, if you have several boxen that are just for folding, you may want to look into foldserver. It only requires one box with a hard drive.

 
that stinks i understand i blew out a mobo because i was being stupid a week or two ago now i get to reinstall everything and hope i didn't blow anything up:(

Just lost a 4.5 year old Western Digital 100GB drive on the kids machine. Luckily Fry's had a Seagate 160GB drive for $39 after rebate. :D

PC up and Folding again.

Heh, I just lost a pair of 933 mhz Pentium 3's, and a pair of 650 mhz PIII's. I sold two systems, which required taking parts from another system. =\ Basically, two PIII 933's, and then my Dual Processor 650 mhz machine went bye bye.

Getting a Dual Core Opteron 170 later today though so it's good. :)
 
I busted my P4's pins a little today when I was removing a heatsink thatI was trying to mod to work, but the AS5 made it stick, and I popped it off, and it fell, bending some random pins. After some shakiness, I took a razor and a mechanical pencil and straightened them. Now it just takes a little effort to push the CPU...still works though.
 
Still running strong, those were work boxens though... I love to use their elec ;) I will get them back up soon. Fold on
