Over 3 years ago, I set a goal of hitting #80 on the team which would put me right at #1000 worldwide. I also remember that I would need about 80K points to get there at the time. I finally made it but the weird thing is that those numbers are identical (except needing to hit 80K to make it). As I got close I was thinking "no freaking way!". It just doesn't make sense. Can anyone explain that?

I think it means that despite the huge growth in numbers of people folding during the past 3 to 4 years, the ratios (big, medium, small farms/folders) in the world and on this team have remained almost identical?
 
Yea, I've noticed that to be true myself. The points change the same for everyone, people come and people go at a steady rate.

About the same point, I set myself a goal of hitting 100K, figuring that it would take me YEARS to get there. It actually took me about a year and a half, and now I do almost twice that in a month now. :D
 
especially with the ramping of the gpu2 client, there's a large group of people moving up to the top with people up there folding w/o GPUs getting shifted downwords, so it moves with the clients
