Lately my temps have been acting weird.

Mainly my cpu

specs
e6600
680i
8800GTS
250gb 7200rpm seagate

nothing is oced.

This is the temps my comp use to idel at

the cpu and hd r speedfan temps, core temp says my cpu is at 34C
cpu 42C, max
hd 32C, max
gfx 52, max

lately these have been my temps

cpu 45C, once it ideled at 48C
hd 36C
gfx 55C

i dont understand where this sudden temp rises came from, i kno it didnt raise alot but im worried they will raise more

the last thing i did inside the case before the temps raised was check the serial number on my mobo, there was a smudge over the serial number so i whiped it off, then there was green residue on my finger. i dont think this had anything to do with it but i thought i should point it out.

also in the summer should my temps rise or lower. my freind sayd since my air conditioning is always on it should lower the temps.

My temps rise and lower according to room temperature.

Other than that, I suggest you check for blockage and/or dust to ensure proper flow.

watch it for a while but dont worry unless they change a lot more.

Keep in mind it all depends on the room temp regardless of what season it is, with ac in the summer and the room mostly always cool they should go down a bit, with ac off and room warm they will go up.

Even the best heating and AC system allow several degress of temp change before they come on or else the thing would be cycling (coming on and off) all the time. This is probally most of what you are seeing, room temp changed a couple of degrees and changed the computer temps.

You are ok, however if you would like to experiment with this, get a good thermometer and keep track of the room temp near your computer (keep it out of drafts and sheilded from the Heat/AC vents) when you note the temps reported by your computer. Write everything down in a log, date, time, temps, temp setting of AC/Heat thermostat and next fall you will have the makings of a decent science paper describing how ambient air temp affects the working temps of an air cooled computer. Couple of nice graphs, data table, a couple paragraphs explaining the reason for testing and a conclusion paragraph and BAM A+. :D
