Hi all,

I have started to get the new Core I7 920 on a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R mobo, weird thing happened though. As the night went on the front case fan shut off. I am not sure why that happened, I am wondering if I have some thing hooked up wrong. When I reboot the computer it runs but as soon as win xp starts it shuts off. I have installed the apps for bios and easy tune 6. Any ideas on this would be appreciated. I tried to remove the easy tune 6. Also I am getting something called bluebird popping up, any idea what this program is?

There is a bluebird application to do something with twitter.

Do you have the fan plugged into the motherboard ? (Check your manual for fan control of the fan headers by the bios temp monitoring, your case may be cool enough the board decided it did not need to run the fan).
Since it spins at boot the fan is not defective, something is deciding it does not need to run or needs to run slowly and the voltage is reduced to the point the fan cannot startup spinning. Pretty sure the answer is buried somewhere in the motherboard manual. Might google EX58-UD3R fan control and see what you get.
