I've searched the [H]forums and google and im trying to figure out if anyone has any real world issues with using any of the "Green" HDs in a raid setup.

I've seen info about TLER (Time Limited Error Recovery) feature on the "raid edition" and how some raid setups will kick out a drive if it powers down and takes too long to get into a ready state.

Does anyone have any experence using the WD caviar green or samsung ecogreen drives in a raid five setup and had issues where a drive would become removed from the array?

Im not looking for performance but I do want to use my raid controller to raid some of these drives together.

Thanks

RAID should not have an issue with Caviar Green drives., assuming the fix is done.

Most retail RAID boxes use Hitachi Deskstar drives, in my experience.

I've been using some 1TB Green drives (WD10EADS to be exact) in a RAID 5 (linux md) with the TLER fix, and they've been working flawlessly.
