on three of my machines (2xC2Q & C2D), the boinc manager is doing some weird crap

I'm showing a bunch of "download failed", "aborted by project", & a bunch that are showing 100% uploading (more than would have been completed by the box in the 12 hours since I last checked it).

WTF. WCG & BOINC have been rock steady for weeks and then this. I haven't touched any of my machines in hours

Kinda sucks. I have my clients keep 2 to 3 days worth of available work and they don't have any to work on after the ones they are working on. Oh well, no science will be done tonight.

Good thing I usually keep several days worth of work queued up just in case I lose internet access or something like that. Looks like this is another reason for keeping extra work handy.

Then again, if I ran out of work, this would be a great time to do some more DVD encoding. I still have a bunch of DVDs I need to rip to the computer so I don't have to mess with the disc.

just add another project for the next 48 hours.. pretty much what i did.. adding a gpu project now because im done with F@H stupid EUE errors have started back up again..

So pretty much there will be no work for the next 48 hours in WCG after I finish what I am working on. That sucks. I only keep about a day worth of work on my work computer, so I wont be doing any work. Damn.

Ok. So this is weird. I've got Application work from Applications I am NOT signed up for. I am currently signed up for 3 WCG Applications: Help Conquer Cancer, Fight AIDS at Home, & Clean Energy. I now have a bunch of work (in Ready to Start status) for Human Proteome Folding which I'm pretty sure I didn't sign up for. Can't actually go and check my device profiles on WCG as it is down. Anyone else getting work they didn't sign up for?

There is an option in your profile that you may have checked that asks you if you want work from projects if your projects have not work. If you did check that box, that is why you are getting work from projects you didn't sign up for as the servers handing out work from your project may not be online yet. I just work on two projects and while I have never had an instance where either ran out of work, I selected that option just in case.

This post won't help you in your quest for medicority
