Perhaps I'll go water cooled the next time around but I've been wondering. Once it's all installed and running, do you have to perform any routine maintenance on your setup such as changing out the liquid every couple months/years, re-tightening the tube connections, etc.?

the one thing that I learned last night for the first time: Make sure everything you use is clean.
I say that because I came home last night and found my pc off. First I thought that the power went out but then I opened up the case and noticed that there was no movement in the tubes. I started searching and found that somehow one tube going to my resovoir tank is clogged by what looks like plastic which I have no idea where it came from.

Since you're moving fluid through a bunch of metal components, the properties of the fluid will change over time so you will need to replace it. I flush my system about every six months, and I'm sure some people do it more frequently than that. Other than that, it's pretty low maintenance. Check your tubing occasionally to make sure nothing has kinked or cracked, but if you buy high-quality tubing and route it correctly this isn't a problem. Providing you aren't using 7/16 Materkleer, use metal hose clamps (the kind that screw down) and you won't have to worry about re-tightening. I get mine at Lowe's for $0.70-ish a pair.

I drain my system every time I do a mod or an upgrade, so about 3 months.

I am lazier, old NF7 been running 4+ years and all I do it top it off, bout once a year, you loose a little coolant from it evaporating thru the tubing, really, not kidding, it sorta just disappears.
One tip is to get a fillport and have a drain like I bet Arcygenical does (and if I had thought of it, I would have put one in and do more maintence) Basically a tee line but out the bottom of the case. I guess you could turn the case over and use a top fill line to drain it too, I went with closed loop, major pain to top off.
New machine has a res, man thats hella easier.
