I didn't respect myself after that night. :(

Cheap beer and vodka = bad. It was free though. :)

The fact that you MIGHT ASK him for advice on watercooling testing would lead most people to believe that he is an expert.

^^fixed^^

In any case, Kyle is no idiot and both he and his review staff are resources that are utilized by 10's of thousands of people each month.

If you would prefer we could ask the gang at xtremesystems?

Sure.

I don't stop in there a lot, but there's a lot of smart people there.

Procooling.com would be your best bet though.

vodka is redeeming.

oh yeh, back to watercooling...

I built a kit that is compariable to what I just paid $136 (after I send back the shroud I discovered is useless for my application):

tubing: 1/2" ID 3/4" OD 1/8" wall 15233K68 10 x .57 5.70 www.mcmaster.com
clamp: 7/32"- 5/8"(x10) $3.85 www.mcmaster.com
GDI heatercore: $26.99 www.autozone.com
spir@l: $25.00 www.dtekcustoms.com
t-fitting $0.99 www.dtekcustoms.com
Maxi-Jet Powerhead 1200 295 GPH $18.95 www.marinedepot.com

81.48

shipping on it would be a killer though, since its coming from many different places. stuff like the T should be better but dtek had it cheaper (you need to get at least 10 at mcmaster)

Since you like debate, think of all the people that use AOL. Food for thought.

Well hey, we agree on something! I was starting to lose hope...

And I am not sure why I discussed this thread hijack for this long because, while XS is a very good site full of some smart people, I have no need to ask either Kyle or XS or Procooling or BillA for assistance at this point.... rendering this entire arguement null and void.

But if we do need help with a problem I will look you up first ;)
I need someone to point me to the right "expert" afterall

Cool. Although I am by no means an expert.

Hopefully, five years from now I will have a degree in mechanical engineering, and that will be different. :)

I didn't say everyone there was smart. I've just looked through their watercooling forums and seen some cool stuff.

Looks like a great budget setup. I wouldn't waste it on a k6/2 500 though....

that was more me being bored and fudging around. if i seriously was going to do the k6-2 thing Id get just a project box and weld it shut for a block, the $8 via pump, 2 feet of tubing, zip ties, and a bunch of copper bends to dissapate (unless I can find a super cheap rad...thats the challenge).

thats more of "stock speed first time setting up," maybe with a smaller pump, although thatd save maybe a few dollars, not a lot

Well if thats what it takes to be an expert then I have one living in the house with me! My Father is an ME and has done fluid design and such for a very long time.... he knows a thing or two about watercooling :)

All in good fun, all in good fun.....
