Cathar's Silver Cascade block

Single pass dual 120mm fan heatercore - Fedco 2-342 core
Custom push-pull shrouds with 4 fans
1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing

i gotta agree with this setup. wouldnt be cheap but itd be pretty kickass. although for its price and a lot of work you could build your own phase-change![]()

Over at overclockers.com.au, Cathar used a similar system to get a BETTER overclock than a friend using a mid-range vapochill setup, on the same exact processor (they swapped).

thats kinda expensive. I'm looking to spend 275-350
I want it to look good and be compact. What can you reccomend me for that?
No offense, but that stuff isn't even on the same level as a setup with a Cathar block, Iwaki and single pass core.

Well, thats your opinion and you are intitled to it. The OCfaq.com review will shed more light on the situation so all the small talk can have more numbers involved.

That's doubtful if they use similar procedures as used in this review.
In it, they judged the effectiveness of the gpu blocks by the overclock they produced. The problem is, the results are only applicable for someone using the exact same watercooling setup and video card.

As for the methodology we will employ in the CPU block reviews, we will utilize ths same techniques as any other site of good standing to produce results that have some basis for comparison.

Do you consider overclockers.com a site "of good standing"?

If we have issues during the testing or questions, we will ask our friends in the industry (such as the individual who owns the very site and forum we are now posting on)

Since when does Kyle B. know anything about watercooling? Last time I checked, he was using a Koolance Exos.

Be careful who you start attacking buddy. Mods usually are not the best to alienate. Since when does the Exos not perform well anyways, last time I checked [H]OCP gave the kit an award.

That said, I don't really give a flying fuck about keeping posting privileges here.

Then it should come as no surprise to you when they are revoked.
Flaming is not tolerated here and I cannot see any evidence of this "know it all attitude" you find so offensive....

Who have I flamed?
Directly disagreeing is not flaming. Hell, you can even be rude without flaming. The thing is, most people here "know" they are right, so an attack on what they say is percieved as a flame.

However, I do have a problem with you considering Kyle B a watercooling expert. He arguably is a hardware expert, but that does not mean he knows a single thing about watercooling. From everything I've read, he only runs prebuilt kits.

Shut up fanboy.
If I were a prospective customer surfing the hardforum, I would be very skeptical of tests performed on your wares by people you seem extremely friendly with.

What you percieve as seeminly biased results is nothing more than honest hard work and professionalism. My company works hard to bring honestly excellent pieces of equiptment here. If I were to bring him a crappy product, and he happened to give it an equally crappy review, then maybe you'd see that there is no bias. We can just seperate work and pleasure, that's all...

I simply stated that I would "ask our friends in the industry (such as the individual who owns the very site and forum we are now posting on)". The word expert is not to be found in that statement or indeed the entire post I copied that from (to be found on page 2)

I just get annoyed with the know it all attitude of certain people on this forum. That said, I don't really give a flying fuck about keeping posting privileges here.
