watercooling memory?

Don't need them on a LanParty board either.............. :eek: My ram is just warm to the touch with good air cooling, air flow, air flow air flow.
 
I'll have my lan party board Monday, but my ram only needs 2.75-2.8v to hit ~250, so I'll just have a fan blowing over it.

lol, you dont even need heat spreaders on your ram, much less a fan blowing over it.
 
I'm still on the fence whether to do the AC ram blocks on the big rig along with everything else (at this point why not for all the reasons Pepper stated) On the 754 rig I did a modified version of what SpoogeMonkey referred to and its simple and effective. I simply cut a coathanger to make two arms for a stock AMD thin 70mm fan: each piece is about 5" long with a loop bent on one end to hold a screw. The other end is bent about 3/4" to poke through one of the fan holes after wrapping electrical tape around the wire to make a snug fit. Two of these were made and use the top and middle mobo mount holes to secure the wires and cantilever the small fan right over the ram, and using a free 3pin header for power. I prefer to think it helped me get here:



Voltage was at 3.3 with 2-2-8-2 timings on the BH-5

Yeah, but it's not like I don't have an abundance of fans. Plus a little extra air flow over the PWM always helps.
 
i'm planning to see how I can add the PWMs to my watercooled component list! :D

I seens the MIPS ones... but they look fugly and restrictive to me.. so I may use a generic cooler from Alphacool.

I have a set of the MIPS NB and Mosfet Freezers. You are correct: While not outright fugly IMO, the machining and finish isn't even remotely close to what AC, Polarflow, Innovatek, etc. offer in their products. I may even open up the port passages on the Mosfet block to be less restrictive.

Do you guys have flow sensors?

I wondered what the flow rate would be before and after installation of the MIPs coolers?
 
the mips mosfet coolers for the DFI boards are a very poor design. They are made to fit over top of the existing heatsinks on the mosfets rather than removing the heatsinks. This adds another barrier to thermal transference, and imo is kind of awkward anyways. They should have designed something that could be used in place of the existing heatsinks instead of in addition to them.

Have you got a DFI board?

Those heatsinks are *very* firmly expoxied on... I would doubt they would get many customers if they required users to firstly rip off the stock ones.. and then epoxy their MIPs coolers on top. Especially, if people still value the ability to RMA the board.

Edit: I've justed checked mine... the heatsinks are better than epoxied on... they are firmly attached and soldered onto the motherboard as well. Please get information correct before making judgements as having them this way is the only way to cool the mosfets with water.
