A couple questions in regards ot these blocks:

EK-NB S-Max

EK-Mosfet ASUS 3a

EK-NB/SB ASUS 3

1 - I see they have an Acetal version for all of these that instead of see thru its black... are the see thru ones able to be permantly stained by colored liquids.. whats the differance other then see thru?

2 - When purchasing the Mosfets I only see a picture of 1... do they actually come in a set of 2 or do you need to purchase 2 seperatly?

3 - Anyone use any of these and use compression fittings with them?

The Acetal (common name Delrin) one are made with Acetal resin, the clear are acrylic. The acrylic ones can have issues cracking around the threaded connections (bards and screws) due to stress because acrylic resin is somewhat brittle. Basically they are made out of completely different kinds of plastic. The clear ones are for looks and if you do not over tighten the barbs etc. are fine. The Delrin ones are much tougher but Acetal/Delrin is not clear and is dyed with additives for increasing different properties or for looks. Natural Acetal is milky colored.

I have never had any problem with clear tops staining. I did have an old DD maze 3 develop a crack at one of the mounting screws holding the top to the copper bottom and DD promptly sent me a new clear top as well as a new copper top.

items 2 and 3, no clue.

You need to order 2 mosfet blocks if that's what your board needs.

Compression fittings work fine if they fit ... this can be a tight fit on a CPU block like the D-tek Fusion.

Yea shazza, I just stumbled upon a few posts and no way 1/2 compression will fit on D-Tek... so Im opting now for 7/16 tubing and no clamps. I also just read that the 7/16 Tygon 3603 is rated best in regards to bending and anti kink. Just pray for no leaks with no clamps.. lol

Well I wanted to go with compression fittings because machines done right look so clean... so Im gonna take my chance with the 7/16" and no fittings, unless I find something else that looks nice and not like my car engine compartment (aka worm fittings). I guess I could try to find the shortest, thinnest clear zip ties and then hide the catch area... I dunno, have to see what I can find.

I will agree with you that the compression fittings are really nice looking. They do have clearance issues though when used on some components (D-Tek Fuzion for example) so the next best IMO is 7/16 tubing on 1/2 barbs. Very tight fit. I actually ran my loop like that for about 10 months before I added some zip ties, and the only reason I did that is I redid my loop without changing tubing and when I reassembled the fit was a little looser then the first time I put it together so I opted for some protection. I use thin translucent zip ties. I can't stand big worm clamps as I think they look really ugly.

Where did you find the translucent ties? Everywhere I went so far they look white.

The ones I have are white/translucent.. not clear like you may be thinking. But when on a silver barb they are nice looking.
