Water cooled phone case

Looking for some help to start a project - water cooled smartphone case. I have a basic idea - pump to tube leads down around the processor in a couple inch spiral then comes back up through a refrigerator unit and so on. I'm new to water cooling so I don't even know if there's a fridge unit. Just mainly wondering if there's even a tube small enough to run through maybe a quarter inch (hopefully less) case. Along with a pump. Is there such thing as a circular pump? And a refrigeration unit or similar part to disperse heat. Planning to use a GS3 and ?maybe Otterbox Defender case? for this. And I know this is kind of a far cry from what this forum is used for, but I couldn't find a water cooled phone case forum. Any responses, suggestions, comments, or criticism is, for the most part, appreciated. Thanks, guys.

Yeeeeeeah, no..... I totally want to believe in you, but... man. That project is pretty intense, what's your motivation? What's your budget? Why do this, for fun, for the challenge, for the e-peen? Good luck, post up some picks of the target phone, you're going to have one hell of a time finding stuff that small...

Smallest "fridge" unit would be something like a peltier/TEC. But you'd need to cool that itself (and they take quite a bit of power...) :D

In a "refrigerator" type setup it would probably be more efficient to put a TEC direct on the whatever then heatsink or if you like, watercool the reverse. remember with any kind of ambient cooling (where it goes lower than the outside/room temperature) you'll need to protect elements against condensation.

In watercooling the water doesn't provide any cooling in itself. It's used to transport heat from hot elements to cold elements. So as the distance from the hot to the cold is pretty small, it might not be the best method of transport. But still worth doing just to do. :D For tiny parts look into RC cars, they usually have some tiny elements like small radiators and pumps for fuel systems. For the pump you could just built your own, it's not exactly doing anything that complicated. Just need a tiny motor and some spinning stuff with a pair of outlets. :D

My only question is why?

Not like you are sticking a Bulldozer in your phone so why need the cooling? Cellphones are made to operate as they are. Sure, they may get a little warm from time to time, but that's just the way it is but water cooling? Hmm...

I say if you can pull it off then go for it, it would be cool to see, but the practicality of it? There is none.

Well I had my reserves about liquid and you guys confirmed them... Plan b! Fan cooled. Anyone know of a fan tiny enough for this? For size reference, take thin, multiply it by thin, then divide by thin...

I'd recommend passive cooling. Order a large aluminum heatsink. Machine a recess in it the profile of the phone. Fasten it in and you'll have a very fashionable S3 with plenty of overclocking overhead. Should still be compact and lightweight, about the size and weight of a standard building brick.
